Juan M. Rodríguez Prieto received a BS and MS degree in Mechanical Engineering from “Universidad de los Andes”, Colombia, and Ph.D. in Computational Mechanics from the “Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña (Barcelona)” working under the supervision of Professors Juan Carlos Cante and Xavier Oliver. He was an Assistant Professor at “Universidad Agraria de Colombia” from February 2014 to August 2014, in the Department of Mechatronic Engineering. In August 2014, he became a part time lecturer at the “Universidad Del Rosario” and “Escuela Colombiana de Ingeniería” He is currently a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Luleå University of Technology, Sweden, within the Division of Mechanics of Solid Materials, under the direction of Prof. Dr. Pär Jonsén. His doctoral and postdoctoral work is focused on the numerical modeling of metal cutting processes using the Particle Finite Element Method (PFEM). Juan Manuel has been a FPI Scholar (research staff training scholarship of Spain), and a Visiting Doctoral Researcher at “Universidad Politécnica de Mondragon” working under the supervision of Professor Pedro Arrazola. Juan Manuel has 600 hours of teaching experience at university level.
